Blessed are the peacemakers; who, on both sides of the front, went from hearing to understanding and insisting on no position.
Blessed are those who have taken this unquestioning step (before those of us who follow) at His Word: "Come ...!" "Come and see ...!"3
They have heard, and obeyed, and seen; have become heirs of the land without adversary. Yes, you meek are safe. You are there, you one-aims, you pioneers; you are close – so that the knowledge on earth may continue to grow: The kingdom of the Prince of Peace is in our midst!
Happy are you straight-lined ones without victory, you fallen and you who are raised up again, you who are always being reoriented; all of you who gain the necessary distance from the stage of the great world theatre - today at the latest. In observing the innumerable unfortunate scenes of this world, you have not lost yourselves, you have not allowed yourselves to be plunged into the deep abysses of arrogance towards God. What gave you stability? And why, on whose account were you one day no longer blindly drawn into the compulsive turmoil of destruction or (at the best) a helpless wanting to help? Where did you look? What were you allowed to see? Who has distanced you, you lovers, you truly compassionate ones?
Because they never set foot on a battlefield (even when marching music is heard), they are exceedingly blessed and to be praised: all those from whom peace emanates in our midst.
The peaceable, those who were already fully armed in the inner desert of solitude (denying themselves a hundred times a day from old habits): With determination they returned home to fresh, blooming nobody's land – here and now completely ready for THAT. Out of discursive discord thinking immediately into the HEART, they have followed the call and silently entered into theirs. They, the heirs of the I-am, the beings in the midst of changing phenomena play (including 'good' and 'evil' that pass away): they were prepared in trust and full of courage to live, no matter what comes. You steadfast, you defenders, who guard the most essential of all, I will thank you, and not with words alone. I want to joyfully walk with you every day of this new year!
Blessed are the beholders with clear eyes (empty, devoid of representations and projections); ever blissfull are the truly free: always anchored in the truth of a groundedness that never breaks away because it is the deepest underlying. So those who love peace above all else are not inferior – not spiritually devastated (destroyed and trampled underfoot). They live - whatever happens to the body; they cannot fall any lower than into God's hand. Nor – at most – would they be climbers of corpses (for we also heard of the horrors; we were told of the extreme ...).
More than conquerors4, but not oppressors; in inner strength, constantly carried by a Presence that knows no name: those lifted above the bottomless fear of the world, set on rock by a mighty hand. Consciously perceiving, they (the "contemplatives" at their master's feet) are peacefully present in an immeasurable vastness and remain in amazement while hearkening: "Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, ..."
To dwell and be held permanently in Heart awareness: How blessed they are! As children of the One Merciful, they know the voice of their Shepherd and the all-encompassing arms of the Father; thus (and only in this way) they receive space in abundance.
In the natural distance of the witness, any self-righteous pretension naturally dries up; any partial demands fall silent of their own accord. The awake observer – without identification – stands on the most neutral ground. The Seer does not present himself, nor can he hide. The seeker's devotion eventually finds the 'place' where seeing arises from ...
Suddenly: silence. --- As if unexpectedly in the war cries, in the hearing of speeches about the exchange of arms.
GRACE. A quiet miracle that belongs to no one.
Silence: Can it be owned? --- belonging to the Truth, silence makes us aware of belonging. So she nurses and distributes herself as bread to all who hunger for righteousness. Although persecuted are heirs of the land those who make peace. Because they have borne the suffering – completely poor and unable to oppose it – their homeland is safe for them.
A genuine, an absolutely reliable promise, the true Good News that has actually been confirmed: Blessed meek, you blessed with peace: You – faithful disciples of the One Non-Violent – are the home of a world torn apart. You enlightened by His Peace, light in the darkness: your presence heals our world that yearns for unity. You first sought the Kingdom of Heaven and there was light (and everything else was given to you – and to us).
My soul becomes light and joyful:
True happiness is to be experienced by all who strive with good will; who come to rest again and again in holy communion. Confidently those who have sought and found. Those who experience eternal peace within themselves: they are radiant of it.
Blessed are those who bear fruit in the Vine: the founders (who do not win/do not lose). Those who get involved and engaged. Those who have let themselves go and allow peace to flow – far beyond all mental walls and borders ...
Wine for all on earth and bread for all: Bread of Peace5 …
